Longing for Spring
It’s sunny out today. The first weekend day that the sun has been out and I don’t have obligations to every one else. This sunny day is for me. Unfortunately it’s cold and the wind is making it worse. I want to go for a bike ride so badly. Craving being on 2 wheels and exploring my new neighborhood. The hills in this neighborhood are crazy and I can’t wait to fly down them on my bike! I guess...

My weigh in the morning is very...

The Holy Grail
Last night I went to a cheese & beer tasting at a new chic restaurant downtown. Fun! But how do you handle this on Weight watchers? No clue actually. The cheese chunks were HUGE and the beer samples were ample. These beers were not Miller Lite either. They packed a flavorful punch, which in turns means liquid calories. t I didn’t handle it right. That’s for sure. I drank and ate it all! I...

5% Goal: Eye on the Prize
So I typically reward myself with food. Probably how I got the situation I’m in now. So it’s hard for me to find a material thing to reward myself with. Weight Watchers has set a 5% goal for me. That is 180.5 lbs. That’s totally attainable! I have been close enough to that number that I could almost touch it! So what am I going to reward myself with when I get there? hmmmm….. Well I’m sort of a...

Portion Size Struggles
Today is the full first day back on Weight Watchers. I haven’t officially followed their eating plan since mid 2008. Since that time I’ve been staying as close as I could to their plan. Well as close as I thought I could. Every morning I have 1 cup of Honey Nut Cheerios and a half of a cup of light vanilla Silk Soy Milk. I keep the measuring cup in the cereal box just so I don’t over pour. (I’m...

Week 4: Weigh In
The Scale: Starting Weight: 186.6 lbs. Weight Last Weigh in: 184.0 lbs. Weight Today: 190 lbs. Weight Change This Week: +6 lbs Total Weight Lost: +3.4 pounds Time to reevaluate how this is going. Not well. Time for drastic measures. Ok… What? Shell out some dough so I stop eating fried dough and get myself under control again! Hm…. Don’t like that idea. Too bad. I already charged it to the ol’...

Emotions & Eating
It’s been 1 week. Grandma went into the hospital 1 week ago today. It’s looking like cancer. We’ll find out Wednesday. All I have done is shove food into my mouth since finding out. Classic Amy Move. Emotional Eating. I eat when I’m bored. I eat when I’m sad. I eat when I’m mad. I eat when I’m stressed out. You name the emotion & I’ll show you the corresponding cupcake. Grandma doesn’t want...

Monday’s meal is full of fat. Tuesday’s meal is more of that. Wednesday’s meal is indefensible. Thursday’s meal much more sensible. Friday’s meal is 1500 calories at most. Saturday’s meal is melba toast. And then it comes down to weigh-in day… Why didn’t I lose weight today? Via Jack Sh*t Gettin’ Fit

What's for lunch?
I’m having left over Trader Joe’s Chicken Chow Mein. This stuff is what my Weight Watcher dreams are made of! It has 4 WW points per serving. There are 3 servings in the bag. I break it up into 2 servings though b/c I’m a hungry hungry hippo! Everything you need is in the bag and you just pop it into the microwave for a few minutes and it’s ready to go. Better than most Chinese places IMHO. Find...

The Best Time of Day to Exercise
The Best Time of Day to Exercise MORNINGS: In most of the articles I read, it appeared that better workout habits were formed when done in the morning. Most people who regularly exercise do so early in their day and carry that invigorated feeling with them for hours more. You also get that boost to your metabolism first thing which helps to burn more calories earlier in the day. Also, when you...

Via Cranky Fitness Think about it: We all make New Year’s resolutions, and we mostly make them about things we’d like to accomplish but think will be at least slightly unpleasant to do—like losing weight, running a mile in under eight minutes, or finally keeping the car clean. The word itself, resolution, implies that what we’re undertaking will be difficult or fraught with setbacks. It’s a...

The Scale: Starting Weight: 186.6 lbs. Weight Last Weigh in: 186.6 lbs. Weight Today: 186.6 lbs. Weight Change This Week: 184.0 lbs Total Weight Lost: -2.6 pounds Wow! That’s the way to start ff the year :-) Last week was harder than I’d thought it would be. Many times I picked up food around the office and shoved it into my mouth without thinking about it. Thinking about what I eat and why I’m...

So remember this morning when I said I wouldn’t stray from my planned eating? Apparently that’s harder to do than I remember. My Bday was a few days ago so a coworkered pressured (it didn’t take much) me into going out to eat… her treat. So I at least ate sensibly. I hate a salad with grilled chicken and LF vinaigrette. I choose to celebrate that I made a good food choice and stayed on track!

Week 1: Weigh In
The Scale: Starting Weight: 186.6 lbs. Weight Last Weigh in: NA lbs. Weight Today: 186.6 lbs. Weight Change This Week: NA lbs Total Weight Lost: NA pounds Here we go again! Last year I did pretty well weighing in here just about every week. I didn’t have much accountability though. Last year I didn’t tell any one about my Finding Fit blog because I was deathly afraid of the numbers the scale...
