I was out of town last week for work so I didn’t get to weigh in. So here’s a 2 week weight in:
Well that exceeds my expectations! :-)
The Scale:
Starting Weight: 186.6 lbs.
Weight Last Weigh in: NA lbs.
Weight Today: 186.6 lbs.
Weight Change This Week: NA lbs
Total Weight Lost: NA pounds
Here we go again! Last year I did pretty well weighing in here just about every week. I didn’t have much accountability though. Last year I didn’t tell any one about my Finding Fit blog because I was deathly afraid of the numbers the scale told me. Through the year I learned that the numbers are just a reflection of how I feel and how I look. People really notice when the scale starts moving down. So really the numbers are just relative to how I’m feeling. So this year I’ve pledged to go more public. I won’t be shout my name from the rooftops here (Google searches and all) but I will be more candid with the support group that is around me every day online and in real life.
I look forward and need your support this year! The last 2 years I’ve lost 20 pounds or more each year. I’ve gone from a size 22 to a solid size 14. I bought a size 12 over Christmas, they may have been a fluke in sizing… But I celebrated it any way. If I can continue the momentum I’ve had the last few years I can see my goal weight of 160 this year! 160 pounds brings me to the “Normal Weight” category using my BMI.
Last year my eyes were focused on my goal, on my cruise in October. That went great! However since my goal was in October I kind of stopped caring after that. I see I didn’t do too much scale damage (+0.1 lb) but I did a lot of routine and mental damage. I was so good about portion sizes and saying no to foods I didn’t really want to eat. This year my goal will be fulfilling my BMI health goal by the end of the year. I will finish the year strong that way!
I am starting off slow. It’s easier for me to obtain a very small goal first to see the success. This week I’m focusing on understanding my portion size, and saying no to food I don’t really want. That includes snacks and going out to eat. If I have a plan of what I want to eat I will stick with it. No more of that last minute going out to eat, no more of that eating a muffin b/c it’s there, and no more second breakfast at work b/c I’m bored.
This month I’m going to have a small goal of going to the gym at work 1 day a week. Seems attainable, but I know it’ll still be a struggle to do it. 30 minutes on the elliptical once a week will help me see how good it feels. Next month I’ll move up to 2x a week.
Each week I promise I won’t be so long winded. I’m just pumping myself up for the day/week/month/year!
How are you going to find your fitness this year?
